Perhaps the "Tsururyaism" should be moved up to the bar of the T, however? Neither is going to look quite right. Also, save this kinda art in PNG/Gif - jpeg compression can ruin the sharp edges.

about the jpg : it was just for preview, I still have the psd with 1968x2668 res, but my poor ability at using polygonal lasso and the 300% bigger free transform makes the tsuruya silhouette looking very bad...

I guess a bigger pic of tsuruya with that pose would be ideal

Ah but note the "Haruhi" is in the bar of the H.

Try making the T a little smaller and move "Tsuruya" into the bar. Maybe the stem a little less wide so the "ism" fits without going over the stem.

Quickly jumped into PS to have a bash at this. I've still got the .psd file here, so any changes needed are easily made, but what do you think of this version?

the silhouette is very good

If possible (read : if you have japanese fonts installed for your toshop), it would be nice if you add this : つるや主義 (tsuruya rules)

about the background : the T looks ok for me, but I think you should use another font for "tsuruyaism". also, look carefully, "tsuruya" should be stretched so left and right sides concur with the sides of the bar of the T (just a detail, but it really needs to look like a rip-off of the original pic for more fun)

That should be "鶴屋主義", her name is spelled with Kanji not Hiragana or Katakana like Haruhi's.

Also, -shugi (主義) just means -ism, fyi. Like Capitalism = Shihonshugi (資本主義). So 鶴屋主義 = Tsuruyaism.

I chose hiragana for having the same number of characters than the original pic (ha-ru-hi -> tsu-ru-ya)

Cheers for the input, I have changed the font to one that was slightly different but the resizing on it made it look similar to the old one 0_o. What font was used on the other one and I'll give that a bash if you want.
Also for your thoughts and opinions I've done 2 versions with the different Japanese characters on them.

Due to an optical illusion is looks like the A is going beyond the bar of the T, maybe it'd be worth adjusting so that it "looks" right even if it isn't.

I'd move the ISM a little so it's left-aligned with the T bar and the space above and to the right is equal, or maybe expand it so the M touches the T stem. Difficult to say what would look better without seeing it.

And it'd be nice to have the background transparent, but keep the "Tsuruya" in white not transparent.

Here's a Ryouko silhouette for you thoughts. I had to merge two pictures then use a bit of artistic license to make this, so there's probably errors which I'll have to fix tomorrow.
Now I just need to figure out what to put for the title.
'Ryoukoism' or 'Asakuraism'?
(I'd be tempted for the latter as it'd fit better, but as this is done for you lot it's your views that count ^_^)

well there is plenty of shops who can make your customized t-shirts by using pics in high res you give to them, and it's not that expensive.
there are also some websites who can do that for you, but dunno about the quality of their work

for the name... well I would have said "mayuge-ism" (eyebrows), but for people to recognize her in one look I guess Asakura is the best way, over Ryoko who is way a commun name

I'd go with "Asakuraism". Nobody in the show calls her by her first name anyway. Also, for "Ryoukoism" you'd get a bit of a debate whether it should be "Ryoko" (as romanized on the character CD) or "Ryouko" (which more properly describes the long o sound).

Although I'd really like it if it showed her holding a knife... but I can't find any good pictures like that, only one where she's sort of crouching. The others all only show her upper body.

Asakuraism would be 朝倉主義, and Ryoukoism (or Ryokoism) would be 涼子主義.

Yeah, thinking about it, I'd go for Asakuraism too.

for Emiri and Taniguchi, they should match their hair color more IMO. try color A2BE50 for emiri and color 949587 for taniguchi and look if it looks well

Hmm, somehow the tilde didn't make it. That is just "nyoronism" not "nyoro~nism". Now if you'd type the tilde normally in japanese you'd get にょろ￣ん主義 but maybe it'd look better as にょろ〜ん主義. Or maybe leave it out after all, I don't know.
