Wow, I just noticed that. That's HUGE for an anime movie. Most barely even get 1 1/2 hours.

It's quite a relief that they won't have to cut much of the story. It's about 7 episodes' worth of runtime, even more than Yuuutsu got in the series.

I might actually start getting a little excited about this.

Still not gonna believe it until i actually see it. There words mean shit to me until I see a fansub for it or a dvd/blueray copy on amazon or something.

It was very, very dramatic. That's not surprising for this storyline, but it just seemed more intense than I was expecting. It took me a while to put my finger on why, and it's because I'm simply not used to seeing these characters and voices in such a tense situation for very long, without Haruhi doing a mental loop-de-loop, shouting something crazy and forcing everyone to go along with it.

So yeah. Lots and lots of tension and while it's not more than some other movies out there, it's amplified because you're not used to seeing the characters in that set of circumstances. Not-really-a-spoiler-warning: I thought the most well-done scene was Kyon's initial freakout. He really flips his shit, especially because he's not normally so phased by unusual happenings.

Also for those who haven't listened to the soundtrack, it'll pay off when you hear the song at the end for the first time. I was sure I was going to cry until I got distracted... by the guy across the aisle from me crying.

Ahaha... the thought crossed my mind, actually but when I got to the theater and there was a minute-long PSO warning specifically against recording movies I was glad I didn't test the laws here. As much as I'd love to aid some people in getting to see this movie, I certainly couldn't pay the penalties if I were caught.

This isn't a movie you could do justice to by seeing it via a mid-to-low quality recording. And on the note of the animation, while the characters' features still aren't quite as sharp as the first season, the movie was less stylized than the episodes from last Summer. As I believe someone on this board put it: the newer episodes had been "K-On'd up".
Definitely less of that business.

It's still a camrip, so obviously it's shaky and jerky, at a weird angle, and out of focus a lot. Oh and the sound sucks.

They did get rid of some of the obvious artifacts though, reduced the flickering and such. Now the quality is awful, and no longer terribad.
