Thread #3!
I found out that I saved more of this stuff rather than regular Haruhi.
Holy crap there are three threads??
>>26238Try and keep all of your Seitenkan stuff more tidy. Makes it easier for when we bring stuff over to AS.

Why must you be so moe, Kyonko-sama? WHY??
Oh snap, it's male Kyonko!

I'm so confused. ._.
Yeah, what the hell? Can you genderbend genderbent characters? That's some pretty heavy shit.
I really am curious, where did this all start? From whose mind did the idea of Kyonko spawn, and why did it became so popular? There must soon be more art of Kyonko than of Kyon himself. Now we just need to wait for Genderbent 'Hare Hare Yukai' dance to appear in NicoNico. If there is not one already :P

>>26276It'd been going for years at a slow pace (see: posts from last year in >>19860 ), but the recent flood was started off of http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2416947 photoshopping the album covers and several scenes from the series. The shops were good enough that they inspired the world to spontaneously rise up and bring forth Kyonko into being.
and a fixed version of the pic by Tokyo(PS. I'm glad Kyonko didn't get the Tsuruya treatment from him.)

This thread hasn't even been around a full day and already it's up past 50 images.
>>26276 Before RmX intervenes.I don't think it comes as any surprise to people who've been watching anime for a while to know that Japanese artists seem to have an INCESSIVE need to bend sensibilities, extending to but not limited in anyway to genderbending characters. In Haruhi's case, the phenominon occured sometime during the end of last year, but unlike what you see now it wasn't as uniform when it came to designs. I think some of the folks on this boards remember the short-haired girl Kyon and the long haired Itsuki from that time period. Needless to say,the designs weren't really popular, and didn't spread through the fandom.THEN, I think a month or so ago, some folks over at Animesuki found the album cover conversions (or the Animesuki thread inspired the album covers), and, well, it exploded. The genderbending project, or Seitenkan, has spread so rapidly, that it's scary.

>>26313...You make it sound as if Animesuki is the point of origin for this sudden craze. Which is absurd, obviously. The album covers posted on the first gender-bending thread less than a month ago have been on 2ch for months, and somewhere over there the gender-bending craze has been slowly building.Animesuki has some capable translators, but declaring that those forums are anything more would be egotistical.

Yeah, you must have a very screwed view of the world if you think Animesuki could make any sort of appreciable difference on what japanese fanartists do.Just look at Pixiv (which is like the japanese Deviantart), and how long ago it was genderbending pics started to appear. Artists have been experimenting with various designs for the characters, they've tried many different ones but none of them really took off. Then someone came up with ponytailed Kyonko and everybody obviously agreed that, "yes, this is how it should be" and started drawing her that way, and it snowballed from there.

>>26319 Not meaning to argue at all, actually. At this point in time, it doesn't really matter where it originated from, whether from Japan or the western fandom. The fact is it's here, and by God, it's spread. And that, comrade, is a bit scary.

Well if that's the case, they need to settle on the length of Koizumi's hair. Make it shorter you idiots, not below the shoulders, just at the middle of the neck! All mussy and shit!
>>26321 Actually, it would be more pertinent to agree on the design for the genderswapped Haruhi. Of all the members, it just doesn't work as well.

>>26322Because what makes Haruhi Haruhi is the hairband (and the armband, but that's irrelevant). A hairband on a guy doesn't look right.
Pictures of genderbent characters from this series have been around a long time, but it was only after that video came out that it really took off, mostly due to Kyonko. I've seen other incarnations of her months ago in the first genderbender thread, but most were terrible because the artists apparently forgot to feminize the features along with the body. So when this version came out it was practically perfect because she actually looks like a girl, and that ponytail is crazy moe. I agree about Haruhi though -- is it a hairband, or headphones?

>>26325 They seem to be divided whether it should be headphones, a hachimaki, or a headband ala-Azuma Kazuma from Yakitate Japan. Hopefully they just make up their minds, since it's the only design that hasn't settled into something that's been universally accepted. Besides, Haruhiko/Haruki just looks plain goofy in some pics.

>>26321Itsuko/Itsuhime is perfect the way she has been designed on the character cover. The perfect looking high school girl (and by Haruhi one of the girls singing her character song sounds so damn HITTABLE). Haruki is our only problem at this point. Everyone else's design is finalized already.

>>26325>>26319If I many interject, one of the changes made to female Kyon was the decision of the cardigan. Prior to the explosion of genderswap in the recent weeks, she was rarely shown with one. This along with the more feminme features seemed to get the ball rolling. The nico video link in the first thread should be the source of the most recent incarnation of the Genderswap characters, as nearly all character designs are influenced by that clip.
>>26354That's such a good pic -!!

MOAR HIGH RES WALLS OF KYONKO
Hail Kyonko.
Tsuruya and Kunikida. Dunno what all the text says.
>>26408Are they supposed to be a couple or something?
How about this!? (Artist said that's a twintailed Kyonko, obviously cosplaying Miku.)
>>26410...Twintail Kyonko? Nosebleed
>>26408 >>26409 Oh my fucking-I just died a little bit from the cute. This pairing should happen more often. Preferably in these genders. I never even thought about this as a possibility but I love it.
