For a guy who spent years learning to draw on pen and paper, i.e. me, then turning to digital, i.e. graphic tablet, the leap is huge. Basically, as someone once told me, if you're used to the old fashion method of drawing, then try using a graphic tablet thinking it'll be like pen and paper, you'll soon discover that all you learnt means nothing and that your skill learn is back to that of a six year old.
So to all those who can draw with a graphic tablet or mouse, you have my greatest admirations.
Well, usually, i would stick up a new Haruhi 4Koma, but in this case, i thought it would be better to experiment with my new semi-pro graphic tablet and softwares. I must say, i'd had them for well over a week, starting from what i originally learnt at school, i.e. circles, squares, lines, etc., and reading books on how to use the softwares (Manga Studio Ex, Photoshop elements 5, Art Rage 2), and so far this is my best. As you can see, on Haruhi's legs are wobbly, it seems i have trouble drawing straight lines with a grahpic tablets.
So for you guys and girls to judge, i'd put up one that is done via pen and paper, and one digitized, inked, and toned via Manga Studio Ex.
Please, i welcome any comments, and especially any tips on drawing via a computer. Thanks and bye.
